China to get microtransaction-based Call of Duty

Asia is in for a Call of Duty of their very own. Mentioned a few times on Activision’s earnings call yesterday afternoon, the new title will be targeting Chinese players specifically, though not much else is known about it just yet.

CEO Bobby Kotick referenced the game as “the upcoming Call of Duty micro-transaction game for Asia,” later specifying that it’s “being developed just for China.” There is a possibility it’ll target other countries later on, “but what we’re doing right now is focused on China.”

More information was said to arrive in the “coming weeks.”
