Sony and its 100 million users are not the only ones losing out on the prolonged PSN/SOE outage that may now last through the end of May. Capcom SVP Chris Svensson writes via the Capcom-Unity forum that the outage is “obviously costing us hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars in revenue that were planned for within our budget.”
The total financial impact of the shutdown is still yet to be fully realized with some figures tallying as much as a $1.25 billion impact on Sony alone.
The third-party impact is harder to calculate, but expect those loss figures to start piling up soon. But look on the bright side. Maybe this whole mess will trigger reconsideration those pesky DRM connections. What’ya say, Capcom?
