Google announced a significant milestone at the annual I/O developers conference in San Francisco this week. The company’s Android OS for smartphones and tablets has now passed 100 million devices worldwide.
Senior vice president of engineering Vic Gundotra hailed the achievement on stage, revealing a short cartoon in which the branded Android ate up an apple; wonder what that was implying?
Google also revealed that it was registering 400,000 new devices every day. We counted that up on our fingers and it came out as… uh… well, good business.
