Codemaster’s popular racing title from last year, F1 2010, has managed to sell a tidy sum.
MCV is reporting that, on a global scale, the game has sold over 2.3 million units, surpassing sales expectations. A total 540,000 of those sales were made in the UK.
Communications manager Andy Gray said: ”It’s fair to say that it surpassed expectations. Hopefully we’ll keep this up for this year’s game.
“There was a perception that F1 was in freefall as a games franchise as sales of the Sony titles had tailed off over the years,” Gray added. “We have some cool things up our sleeve. We have learnt a great deal in the couple of years we have been working with the licence which can only benefit the game.”
The next entry, F1 2011, hits in September.
