Despite having a successful financial year, with sales up 19% year-on-year to €1,039 million, French publisher Ubisoft have cancelled a few titles.
The company’s financial report states: “Ubisoft has taken measures to adapt its structure to major changes in the industry by reorganising the roles and operations of its studios, which has resulted in the termination of certain projects.”
Just what are those titles? We’d love to tell you but the publisher didn’t say. Though fans who fear this may be the end of the road for Beyond Good & Evil 2 and the mysterious I Am Alive can breathe easy; Ubi has confirmed that they’re safe.
On the other hand, CEO Yves Guillemot did confirm that a major PC announcement was incoming. “In the coming days, we will officially announce an ambitious project on PC based on one of our top gamer franchises that will illustrate our capacity to take advantage of new business models,” he said.
Lots of activity at Ubi camp then. It should prove to be an interesting E3 for them.
