Following the announcement of publisher Ubisoft’s very own movie and TV branch, the company is beginning to move on transforming some of its biggest games into ever bigger films.
Variety is reporting that Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon are all in the pipeline for big screen adaptions. While the Splinter Cell license has been bouncing around movie limbo for some years now, EuropaCorp CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet revealed that: “We want to keep ownership, retain control over the film content, and we’re open to work with studios on the development of our projects, and eventually collaborate on the pre-casting, pre-budget and script.”
Creed, being the publisher’s biggest title, is looking likely to be the first out of the gate. Ubisoft are hoping for a finished script by the end of 2011, meaning we could see an adaption in maybe 2013 or 2014.
