If there’s an upside to the PSN outage it’s this: Sony’s ‘Welcome Back’ program. Every PSN member who had an account pre-outage is entitled to two free PS3 games from a list of five. PSP owners will also get a choice of two games from four.
The company has now detailed just what’s on offer for both the US and EU regions, with only slight differences between the two. On PS3 there’s a choice between LittleBigPlanet, Infamous, WipeOut HD + Fury, and Dead Nation. The US also has Super Stardust HD thrown into the mix while the EU can pick up Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty.
The PSP offerings are identical between the two regions. Both have a choice of LittleBigPlanet, Killzone: Liberation, Pursuit Force, and Modnation Racers. US users will also get a weekend of free rentals on selected movies, and both regions will get free 30 day PS Plus subscriptions, with another 30 days for pre-outage members. Home users will also be treated to some free content, with 100 virtual items going free in the US.
All this freeness will be available come the Store’s return, which is yet to be dated.
