This is one of those stories that we have trouble believing even after we’ve seen the facts. Gamasutra is reporting (based on Sandvine data) that a total 20 percent of internet bandwidth in the US is people using Netflix on their home consoles.
That’s staggering, and it’s not even including PCs. The data was recorded during peak hours of internet usage in the country. Interestingly, when broken down platform by platform, Sony’s PS3 is the most popular device to use the service with, taking up 31 percent of total Netflix usage while 360 follows at 25 percent. The Wii accounts for around 11 percent too.
