Now that the PSN is back (for the most part), Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Online Entertainment are starting the long road to rebuilding consumer trust in their PlayStation and MMO brands. They recently announced the first step in this plan; offering a year’s free identity protection. First revealed for the US, it’s now been confirmed that Europe will be covered too.
Affinion International Limited is the company that Sony will pay for you to use, covering United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain and Germany. This will provide constant monitoring of personal and financial information, alerting you to any changes, personal information protection software, insurance coverage for any instances of identity fraud and dedicated helplines should you need them.
Does this go any way to restoring a gamer’s trust in Sony?
