Imagine the mobile game competition are pigs, okay? And say the game Angry Birds is, like, a swarm of angry birds being slingshot…right. Angry Birds and its incarnations (Seasons, Rio) have been downloaded over 200 million times according to a recent Rovio press release. Downloads, yes, sales, no; but keep in mind that Angry Birds is free on Android and the Chrome Web Store (where it was downloaded 6 million times in the first week) and comes in various “Lite” versions free to download. Still, it’s safe to say people will shell out money for Angry Birds, considering merchandise has shipped over 3 million units. Yes, those cute little plush toys and iPhone/iPod cases. Three million. It’s kind of a big deal.
