UK Charts: LA Noire becomes fastest-selling new IP ever

“Outstanding” might be a good word to describe LA Noire‘s performance on the UK’s weekly all-formats charts with; the new Rockstar-tagged property from Australian studio Team Bondi has become the fastest-selling new intellectual property of all time in the country, according to data collector GFK Chart-Track.

Indeed, the crime saga with the impressive facial capture tech had no trouble capturing the top spot for the week, with sales roughly in line with Rockstar’s 2010 success, Red Dead Redemption. It passed last week’s #1 Brink (now #3) and fellow newcomer The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings which, despite being PC-only (and not counting digital sales), lands at #5.

LA Noire is now the 13th fastest-selling title on the Xbox 360 (which got 58% of the sales) and 11th on the PS3.
