Age of Conan goes free-to-play

2008’s Age of Conan is adopting a hybrid business model; Funcom’s announced today that its MMO will, as of sometime this summer, go through a digital relaunch under the name Age of Conan: Unrated, and that it’ll be available free of charge to all who wish to explore the lands of Hyboria.

Premium subscriptions will of course be offered for those who desire extra content. Plus, an in-game store allowing both free and premium players to purchase items such as weapons and mounts will also be available.

Funcom says new content is being worked on as well, the movie tie-in pack that was announced just yesterday included.
