As announced earlier, Sony is offering complementary identification theft protection (via Debix’s AllClear ID Plus service) to its US userbase affected by the PlayStation Network and Qriocity outages. Those interested in making use of the free-of-charge 12-month program can now begin the enrollment process.
As the company details on its PS Blog, account holders must simply head here to sign up. Those applying must have an active account as of April 20, 2011.
Once enrolled, the service will offer alerts, insurance coverage, and assistance from fraud investigators.
A similar service will be offered to Sony customers in Europe via Affinion International Limited. A Canadian equivalent is being worked on as well, but details on that are yet to surface.
