It seems every time I look for a new arcade game to play on Xbox Live, I’m always faced with that confident young helmet wearer standing next to a bike. Trials HD is quite the popular game to be downloaded that doesn’t contain zombies or guns, so it’s no surprise that the motorcycle stunt game has gone past the two million units sold mark.
Redlynx CEO Tero Virtala has said: “For a digitally downloaded game, this is a significant milestone, and shows one of the many ways the digital space is quickly growing and the industry itself is changing and evolving.”
“Whatever the future holds remains to be seen,” added a teasing creative director Antti Ilvessuo, “but currently we have six teams working on six games, so I can guarantee there are other great RedLynx games in the works.”
So it seems that with independent games such as Trials HD, Minecraft and World of Tanks boosting in popularity, there is less worries of the games market being cluttered by samey mainstream titles.
