Not content with having your Bluetooth headset pull double duty for both your phone and PS3? Sony has just the thing for you, having just unveiled their new PlayStation 3 branded Wireless Stereo Headset. The wireless headset is expected to cost around $99.99 and is due to hit North American stores this September.
Featuring 7.1 virtual surround sound, the headset is like wearing a home theater audio system on your head, without the worry of waking your neighbors/roommates/significant other/parents/etc… – except when you want to watch a Blu-ray movie, as surround sound on those discs are not supported by the device. But when you’ve got a retractable mic for when you are going solo offline – or just don’t feel like talking – and some comfy oversized earpads to minimize ear fatigue, who wants to watch movies anyway?

Sony’s made connecting the headset to your PS3 easy peasy, too. The headset comes with a USB wireless adapter for quick plug-and-play action. Changing the volume and/or muting the mic is similarly worry-free, with a simple tap or swipe of the finger on the headset.
With E3 fast approaching, it’s a safe bet that these will be seen quite a bit around anything PlayStation 3 related.
