Sony have seemingly changed their stance on handheld 3D gaming recently; the company has admitted that it could develop the tech for the small screen.
Speaking to Develop, director of Sony WorldWide Studios’ 3D team Mike Hocking said that the tech was “rapidly improving”, adding: “The amount of new 3D mobile devices at this year’s CES show is evidence of that. As small screen 3D improves we may be able to deliver these high quality 3D experiences on smaller screens.”
Does that mean we could be seeing 3D for a future Sony handheld? Sony says it’s possible but for now the focus is to build a “pure gaming device”.
