The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is today officially console-bound; after a few retailer listings discovered just some hours ago, the fantasy RPG has just been truly, formally announced as an Xbox 360 title.
The news comes direct from developer CD Projekt’s Summer Conference event moments ago ago, but it’s hardly been a well-kept secret; between the recent retailer findings, the ESRB listing, and the developer’s own promises of revealing a new Witcher game that “console gamers might be interested in,” it’s been a matter of ‘when’ for a while now.
The game can be expected on the console before the end of the year.
A few details on the 2-week-old PC version were also shared; a 400,000 unit sell-through was achieved in its first week on the market. A new patch (v1.2) is being worked on as well; expect over 50 improvements.
Update: Despite being brought to the consoles, the developers assure the game won’t be dumbed down and that it will look “stunning.”
