Metal Gear Solid HD Collection heading to PS3, 360

One of the many, many rumors about Hideo Kojima’s E3 surprises has come true; Konami will release Metal Gear Solid HD Collection towards the end of the year for both PS3 and 360. The man himself announced the news towards the end of Konami’s pre-E3 conference.

The set includes Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Oddly enough, Peace Walker isn’t part of Sony’s recently announced PSP Remaster line-up and is instead being handled as a true port just like the PS2 games. So yes, that means there will indeed be trophies for the game after all.

While it’s the first time that both MGS3 and Peace Walker will show up on an Xbox platform, the PS3 version will take advantage of Kojima’s own “Transfarring” service, allowing Peace Walker to be played on both PS3 and PSP. It’s the Metal Gear mastermind’s intention to bring this service over to NGP and eventually have PS3 quality titles running between the two services.

A November 2011 date was stamped onto the collection’s announcement.
