Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford mounted the stage at Ubisoft’s E3 press conference tonight and announced Brothers in Arms: Furious 4.
Pitchford said that Ubisoft had challenged the studio to reinvent the World War II shooter, and the trailer shown, available below, is indeed a strong departure from BoA games of old.
Leaning heavily on the irreverent over-the-top blackly humorous tone of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds, the game lets you take on the role of a quartet of soldiers out to punish nazis in various nasty and inventive ways. The art style has taken a turn for the cartoonish too.
It will be out in 2012.
