Battlefield 3 will have three times the amount of downloadable content of last year’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2, it was revealed during an EA investors call today.
Bad Company 2 had seven DLC additions then, plus the Vietnam and cooperative Onslaught expansions packs.
The first addition to Battlefield 3 is already well-known; available for free for those who pre-order the limited edition, Back to Karkand re-imagines four classic Battlefield 2 maps on DICE’s new Frostbite 2 tech (have a look at some comparison shots here).
Battlefield 3 is out in October, as announced just this week; the 25th in NA, 28th is EU.
Plenty of new footage has been released this week as well: multiplayer footage debut, Frostbite 2 features trailer, 8-minute tank gameplay.
