Mass Effect would be “really nice fit” on Wii U

When we learned that Mass Effect 3 was going to have Kinect functionality, we knew that EA wasn’t shy about introducing the sci-fi RPG franchise to new platforms.

The Wii U, with HD capabilities and a more versatile controller, is much more equipped to handle PS3 and Xbox 360 ports than its predecessor.

It’s only natural that we start to wonder if and when Mass Effect 3 is coming to Nintendo’s new console. And we’re apparently not the only ones wondering. When asked about the possibility of Mass Effect 3 on Wii U, EA Games label head Frank Gibeau replied, “I can’t say that we are going to do it on the Wii U, but you can imagine what we could do with that controller in the Mass Effect universe. It feels like a really nice fit, but we’ll announce that when the time is right.”

So, maybe not ME3, but another Mass Effect port, or perhaps an original entry in the series is a possibility?

When further prodded about potential ports onto Wii U, Gibeau said: “We’re certainly going to bring over some of the big franchises. Battlefield is the one we talked about today, but we’ve also started a lot of new IPs over the last couple of years at EA Games.”
