With the announcement of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings for Xbox 360 as seen earlier this month, developer CD Projekt have inevitably come under fire about the lack of a PS3 version of the game.
Speaking to Eurogamer, senior producer Tomasz Gop has provided both information on why a Sony port is yet to be announced, and the possibility of one being announced in the future.
“We are focused on Xbox 360 right now,” he said. “Obviously that doesn’t mean we would not like to do PS3 later on in line, like next after that. We would love to. Yes, I can say we would love to.”
An encouraging statement to say the least. But if this version is looking likely, why not simply announce it with the 360 version? Gop continued: “The size of the studio and the approach we have for the projects. We do not like to engage 50/50. With everything we go with full speed, always.
“The other thing is switching from PC to Xbox 360 was quite straightforward. We already have people that have done 360 games on board.
“Right now we’re on the look out for a good PS3 developer, so it might happen.”
Keep those fingers crossed that this hardcore RPG will find its way over to Sony land, then.
