Played Final Fantasy XIII but didn’t quite like it? Next year’s follow-up XIII-2 is “a completely different experience,” Square Enix will have you know.
In response to criticisms over XIII‘s story-based gameworld being too linear and not populated enough, producer Yoshinori Kitase has told Siliconera that the developer “wanted to present a completely different experience” in XIII-2, promising “more exploration and elements in the environment to interact with.”
Kitase further explained that XIII-2 is designed with multiple playthroughs in mind, which means there are multiple endings to be had as well.
XIII-2 is currently around 70% done. Expect it early next year.
