City Interactive’s Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is targeting sales of 2 million plus.
The first Ghost Warrior, the PS3 version of which is yet to relase in North America (expect it on June 28), is about to cross the 1.5 million sold mark, so an improved sequel shouldn’t have trouble at least matching that.
There’s also the eye-candy factor; the new game is powered by Crytek’s CryEngine 3 and looking mighty impressive (catch the first in-game screenshots in the gallery here).
“We want to make Sniper 2 bigger than Sniper 1, and that game is approaching 1.5m units,” CEO Marek Tyminski says. “It’s just a matter of time before we break the 2m units sold across all three platforms. That’s our benchmark and we want to hit the same numbers soon after the release of Sniper 2. We have solid plans to support that.”
There’s no release dates or launch windows for Sniper 2 yet, though it was present in playable form at E3 last week.
