Kinect voice comes to Australia in 2011

Microsoft coders have been busy teaching Kinect the ‘g’day mate’s and the ‘fair dinkum’s and are ready to add Kinect voice control to Australia in 2011.

This was affirmed by head of Xbox Australia David McLean at the Gametech event in Sydney, as reported by GameSpot. He didn’t get more specific about the timeframe than that, though.

He also gave out some statistics. Apparently about 50% of Aussie users are on Xbox Live. Foxtel on Xbox, a pay TV service, was downloaded more than 170,000 times, a number expected to grow when unmetered Foxtel via 360 comes to Telstra BigPond. Or something. We’re sure it makes sense to the folks down under.
