The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D has done what other 3DS games couldn’t; pushed the 3DS to the top spot of hardware sales in Japan for the first time in two months.
The 3DS sold 40,649 units last week, beating PSP’s 31,741 sales, something the system hasn’t done since April. If any game was going to do it, it was always going to be this remake of the N64 classic, though Zelda itself hasn’t topped software charts.
Instead it stands as the second best-selling game of last week, having been beaten by Level 5’s Little Battle Experience on PSP. Great name, that.
How will Zelda influence 3DS sales in the west?
