Vita’s LittleBigPlanet developed by Double 11, Tarsier

The PS Vita version of LittleBigPlanet is being developed by Double11, the UK studio has announced in an introductory media burst today.

The 30+ strong outlet, based in the North-East of England, was founded last year by former Rockstar engineers Lee Hutchinson and Matt Shepcar.

“It’s a fantastic achievement and a privilege for the studio to be working on a project such as LittleBigPlanet, particularly for such an exciting new platform,” Hutchinson, the studio’s CEO, says. “We’ve spent the best part of a year recruiting a crack squad of games development professionals and we’re delighted that we can finally announce it.”

The game is in fact being co-developed; Double11 is said to be “chiefly the technology architects” on the title. Giving them a helping hand is Tarsier Studios from Sweden, who contributed ‘significantly’ to the PS3 editions of the series.
