EA’s Origin coming to iOS, Android devices

During its Summer Showcase, EA has announced that it’s launching a mobile version of the Origin digital distribution network. It will come to both Apple and Android devices.

As Joystiq writes, the Origin app will let you access your Origin friends list and news feed. The demo showed a version of Scrabble being played simultaneously across iPad, iPhone, Android, and Facebook. You can store your game data with Origin, meaning you can start playing on one device and continue on another. There was also new version of Need for Speed, where you can access your friends’ leaderboard data.

The Scrabble game will be available for free on Android next week. Look out for more details on the service in the near future.
