Zynga acquires app developer Five Mobile

Social videogame developer Zynga isn’t shy about bettering themselves with the purchase of a smaller developer. Just recently, they announced they were going to start selling shares of the company in order to raise more cash for more purchasing.

It’s not surprising then that Zynga has acquired Canadian developer Five Mobile and turned them into Zynga Toronto. Five Mobile specializes in making apps, so the purchase makes sense given the presence of social videogames on non-gaming platforms like phones and social networks.

Next to “certain” assets and intellectual property, founders Ameet Shah, Jeff Zakrzewski, Oliver Tabay, and Troy Hubman have all made the switch.

This is the fifteenth acquisition for Zynga in the last 13 months.
