Flying Wild Hog’s previously teased project has a name: Hard Reset.
The cyberpunk, dark sci-fi FPS is the Poland-based studio’s first project and is due out on PC only.
PC Gamer, who had the exclusive announcement, describes it as a combination of Blade Runner, The Matrix, and Painkiller. Add in developers from People Can Fly, CD Projekt RED and City Interactive who’ve collectively worked on the likes of Painkiller, Bulletstorm, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and Sniper: Ghost Warrior, and we’re off to a promising start.
The story: the robots have taken over and humanity is on the verge of extinction. You play as Major Fletcher — the character from the debut trailer below — and defend the single human city that remains, Bezoar.
Hard Reset is a single-player only game where players are “dragged into a conflict between two of mankind’s greatest enemies,” according to the official word. You are to discover that “nothing is what it seems to be.” Conspiracy!
The game’s out soon, this September, running on the studio’s own Road Hog engine. Have a look at the first in-game screenshots in the gallery here.
