A 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is a possibility, producer Eiji Aonuma has said. Although by the sounds of it it’s perhaps best not to get your hopes up.
When asked whether or not the 2000 N64 title could get a re-release similar to last month’s Ocarina of Time, Aonuma told Nintendo Power: “It’s been 13 years since Ocarina of Time was originally released, and one of the big things that we made this remake possible was that there was an out pour of emotions from people who said they would like to see this game done.”
“We said we could do it in 3D, so we did. I think certainly if there was a similar output of emotion and clamor from fans for a remake of Majora’s Mask, it wouldn’t be an utter impossibility.”
That’s about the faintest kind of hope there is, I’d say, but hope nonetheless.
