Driver San Francisco PC comes with always-on DRM

Ubisoft has not let go of its much-despised way of doing DRM on the PC; early September’s Driver San Francisco will require a permanent internet connection whether you play online or not, it’s been confirmed.

The question arose when the game’s Steam listing was found to say: “3rd-party DRM: Ubisoft’s Online Services Platform. Ubisoft requires a permanent internet connection to play this video game at all times.”

Ubisoft has since confirmed via Twitter that this will indeed be the case. “PC version requires permanent internet connection,” wrote the game’s official account.

The game’s out on September 2nd in Europe and the 6th in NA.
