The sequel to Gearbox’s 2009 loot-laden shooter-RPG Borderlands will be out next year, rumor has it.
According to a Eurogamer source, the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game is deep in development as we speak. Not that it comes as a surprise, mind you.
Folks from Gearbox have on several occasions expressed interest in continuing with the franchise. Given the first game’s 3 million or so copies sold, who can blame them, really.
A formal announcement is expected soon, the EG source also whispers. Gamescom in a few weeks’ time, perhaps?
Update: It’s official.
