That’s right. HBO’s service that lets viewers watch premium cable programming on phones, tablets and computers is now coming to videogame consoles, and we can’t say we’re very surprised. Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes has already seen the success that other streaming services like Netflix and MLB.tv have had moving to game systems, so why not do the same with HBO Go?
It’s actually kind of surprising that HBO Go didn’t hit consoles before the smartphones. After all, having to watch an episode of Game of Thrones cramped onto a little iPhone screen might take something out of the dramatic experience. Those videogame consoles tend to be connected to something with a slightly larger screen.
