Mojang’s Minecraft is the little game that could. Markus Persson AKA Notch has told PC Gamer that the first annual MineCon is going down this November.
More specifically, MineCon 2011 will happen November 18-19 in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Tickets go on sale next week, at which time the event’s full lineup of events will also be announced. Expect lots of block things!
What’s more, the convention is coinciding with the full launch of Minecraft, which is actually still in beta. Crazy? But true.
And there’s no need to fret if you think Minecraft finally launching signals the end of development on the game.
“We’ll just go back home and keep working on Minecraft directly after MineCon,” Notch said. “But it does represent a huge milestone where the game finally leaves beta, something we’d never been able to do without our fans, so it feels natural to celebrate it with them.”
