The announcement of a dramatic price drop has sent 3DS sales soaring in Japan. Well, it has for the second-hand market anyways.
Andriasang reports that sales have doubled since the cut was revealed. Retailers have reportedly slashed ¥4,000 (£31/$51) off of the price, which stands at ¥23,000 (£179/$295). Some have even dropped as low as ¥14,000 (£109/$179). The price of a new 3DS post-cut will be ¥15,000 (£117/$192).
This Friday is when things change however. We’re expecting a huge sales boost of course, but will that solidify the future of the handheld?
