More news on the ‘digital revolution’ front today, as news comes in from a PlaySpan report (via) that one in three gamers have bought virtual goods like DLC as some point.
In a survey carried about by 1,000 people, it was revealed that a further 57 percent of gamers buy virtual content on a monthly basis. The data suggests that online-enabled console games take upĀ 51 percent of the purchases, with social titles claiming 30 percent.
Is it a sign that the new age of retailing is upon us? Far from it, but as digital sales continue to grow, so will the breadth and variety of content on offer.
