Valve has just formally announced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. CS: GO they call it for short.
Due out in “early 2012,” the game will release on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and Steam (for PC and Mac both).
Expect new maps, characters, weapons, and a fresh lick of paint on old content like the all famous de_dust map for example. New gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards etc. are also in.
That’s it for now. Expect more during PAX where it’ll be present in playable form. Eurogamer Expo attendees will have a chance to go hands-on as well.
