Following recent good fortunes of getting Gears of War 3 rated in uncut form in Germany, Microsoft says its looking to get the same done for its two predecessors which weren’t quite as lucky as they released back in 2006 and 2008.
Unlike Gears of War and Gears of War 2, the upcoming third installation received an 18 rating in the country, leaving developer Epic Games president Mike Capps positively surprised.
“We were so surprised that Gears of War 3 was rated here that we really didn’t have an action plan,” Capps said at Gamescom.
“I’m very happy that the marketing team at Microsoft was able to put together a booth presence for us at Gamescom with a couple weeks notice. I’ve never even met them, cause we’ve never sold anything [Gears of War] in Germany before.”
Capps says he’d “love” to see the previous games released in the country, as a trilogy compilation for example.
When asked about the possibility, Microsoft confirmed it’s “looking into it.”
