Square Enix and Airtight Games have revealed their mystery PAX project, and we’re won over on the name alone.
Quantum Conundrum is a first-person puzzler that looks a fair bit like the Portal series minus, uh, the portals. We may not be shooting physics-bending doors into walls and floors but the rest of the experience – dropping objects on switches and flinging them across rooms while trying to avoid the dangers of the environment – is still present.
Plus, the story is (obviously) a bit different, in that your Uncle, a great inventor, has managed to get himself stuck in another dimension and it’s your job to save him.
Child-friendly, yeah, but let’s hope that doesn’t mean that the puzzles are a breeze. We’ll find out when Conundrum launches on PSN, XBLA and PC in early 2012.
