Codemasters and graphics card manufacturer AMD recently teamed for a promotion that gives purchasers of a new card a free copy of Dirt 3. However, not all has gone to plan, it seems.
According to a Kotaku report, up to 3 million copies of the game are currently sitting on a webserver, free for anyone to grab. However, the codes are for Steam, meaning those who activate one of the codes run the risk of getting slammed by whatever punishment Valve or Codemasters deem appropriate.
Kotaku has updated its story, saying that currently only 250,000 copies of the game are available. However, that estimate may be an inexact or incomplete assessment. Still, not good news any way you look at it.
