Rumored for ages, EA has at long last formally announced its Starbreeze-developed Syndicate reboot.
Set in 2069, the “unique and brutal sci-fi first-person shooter experience” throws the player in the shoes of Eurocorp prototype agent Miles Kilo and depicts a world “run without government oversight” and with “syndicates vying for total dominance of their local market place.”

Eurocorp is one three mega corporations — next to Cayman Global and Aspari — “at the forefront of this brutal war for control of the pivotal American market.”
“In the world of Syndicate, everything is digitally connected, including the people,” the official word further explains.
“Players aren’t limited to the weapons in their hands. Through DART 6 bio-chip technology implanted in their head, players can slow down time and breach the digital world around them to take down their foes using a variety of upgradable hacking mechanics. Syndicate’s blend of fast-paced, futuristic, action shooter settings and story combined with innovative chip breach gameplay instantly immerses players in a unique digital world.”
The game also has a separate, 4-player cooperative mode to brag with, featuring missions from the original game; it’s “another layer of depth to the overall experience,” says Jeff Gamon, EA Partners Executive Producer.
Targeting ‘early 2012,’ Syndicate‘s coming to all PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
