The official PlayStation Blog may have done an oopsie; a post that was published for just a few moments reportedly held the North American PlayStation Vita launch date: February 28.
The handheld was just over a week ago dated for a December 17th Japanese release. The official western release window remains ‘Q1 2012’.
Whether this happened or not, it’s clear Sony didn’t want the date out yet. “We have yet to announce the date for Vita in the US or Europe,” a rep told Gamespot. “Any other suggestions are typical speculation and rumors.”
With Eurogamer Expo kicking off in London today (Sept. 22-25), perhaps a Sony blogger merely rushed the gun, and we’ll be getting the official date announcement before the week’s out? Here’s hoping.
