Online support for Demon’s Souls will extend beyond Dark Souls‘ October launch in the west, Atlus has confirmed.
The publisher had planned to kill the online aspects as the game’s spiritual successor launches, but has announced plans to extend network features into 2012.
“While it comes at significant cost to us and although it has been over two years since the game revolutionized the notion of multiplayer and online functionality in an RPG, our commitment to the game and the fans that turned it into an incredible success remains as strong as ever,” says Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales.
The game is now available for a lowered price, too: $19.99. A sign of the company expecting a sales surge come October, perhaps?
