After the success of Deus Ex: Human Revolution fans are naturally clamoring for news on a possible sequel. Fear not though, as Square Enix has “a plan” for the franchise, Human Revolution dev Eidos Montreal has revealed.
The team’s Marce-Andre Dufort spoke to Eurogamer (via) about the possibility of the next game being EM-developed.
“I would like to, but I don’t know what the future is right now,” he said.
Apparently Square Enix boss Yoichi Wada is the one that knows where the franchise will head next. “I know that Wada-san said he had a plan for the future, but right now we’re celebrating the success of the game, since it’s the first game of the studio.
“I don’t know if you’ve seen the credits of the main game,” Dufort concluded, “but there were a lot of production babies, so I think people want to spend some time with their families and take some time off. That’s pretty much where we are right now.”
That will be a rest well earned indeed. Human Revolution‘s performance will definitely be swaying the direction of the franchise though, and we’re hopeful to see the Montreal team back behind the franchise once more.
