We know some single-player games don’t need a tacked on multiplayer component and if anyone’s proved that it’s Agent 47. Regardless, when IO Interactive producer Hakan Abrak – currently at work on Hitman: Absolution – says that the latest entry in the franchise will feature some “very, very interesting” online aspects, we can’t help but be intrigued.
Abrak revealed as much to Eurogamer recently. “I want to say we do have something very, very interesting coming up in Hitman: Absolution on the online side,” he said. “We’re not ready to talk about it right now. Hitman is an assassin who works alone, but you never know in what form or in what way we could give you an online experience.
“It’s unfortunately not something I can talk about right now, but I can say, in the story part, Agent 47 definitely works alone.”
There’s still a lot to see from this one on the whole, let alone bonus modes. We would absolutely love an Autolog-style comparison system for the mission performance, though.
