EA on BF3/Steam rumor: “Really nothing to report”

Battlefield 3 launching on Steam, along with every other digital distribution platform, looks to remain an unobtainable dream. That despite a “strong relationship” between EA and Valve.

Yesterday’s rumors on a deal between the companies being reached soon gave a bit of hope, but it may not be meant to be. EA’s fresh comments on the chatter sound to be pouring some cold water in it, at least.

“There’s really nothing to report,” a spokesperson for the publisher tells IndustryGamer. “We’ve got a strong relationship with Valve, but we don’t have anything new to announce on this.”

Yesterday’s rumors, supposedly originating from a source inside Valve, said the sides are in late stages of talks to get the DICE shooter up on the service. More on that here.
