If you’re looking for a cute memento to memorialize your time spent fighting bravely alongside friends in a fantasy world, and also would like to be philanthropic in the process, then Blizzard has a server blade to sell you.
The World of Warcraft developer is selling off HP ProLiant blades that once were home to hundreds of realms across North America and Europe.
The beneficiary of Blizzard’s efforts is the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Buying a server blade will result in money going towards the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other terrible childhood diseases.
To get one of the blades, prospective buyers should check out eBay over the next four weeks, starting today, when the first batch will begin being auctioned off. Each blade will come with a special plaque signed by the team that created World of Warcraft.
Says Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime, “Each winner in this auction will own a small monument to those collective experiences [playing Warcraft]. The best part is that this auction benefits a great charity doing tremendous work in helping children from the US and around the world.”
