Wii U final form at E3 2012

Nintendo’s previously said it won’t launch the Wii U until the end of April next year. It’s now made it clear we’ll be waiting at least a few months beyond that.

Talking during the company’s quarterly financial presentation, Nintendo global president Satoru Iwata said the system is still on for their next financial year, however: “We would like to show the final format of the Wii U at the E3 show next year.” We’d say a spring launch is out of the question in that case.

Iwata also addressed the topic of the 3DS’ less than stellar launch and how that would not be the case with Wii U: “As we learned a bitter lesson with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS, we are trying to take every possible measure so that the Wii U will have a successful launch.” Fingers crossed.
