Max Payne 3 will be making the series’ online debut when it launches next March, but we haven’t seen much in the way of multiplayer just yet.
While some fans fear the results, we’re eagerly awaiting more details. It’s nothing too revealing, but Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser has offered a few tidbits of info about the mode to Variety (via). “We wanted to put some elements of single player into the multiplayer so the multiplayer will have a lot more detail and have elements of story in it and have a sort of an immersive quality,” he explained. “We think that’s something that is underexplored in multiplayer.”
What could this mean? Dead Space 2‘s multiplayer battles were meant to be taking place at the same time as the single-player campaign, while Uncharted 3 uses cut-scenes to help its online feel more cinematic. Will Max Payne 3 go in one of these directions?
